HTML is the standard markup language for Webpages. By using HTML, you can create your own Website. Here HTML stands for 'Hyper Text Markup Language'. It describes the structure of a Web page as it consists of a series of element. In HTML, elements tell the browser how to display the content.

Let's explain the code;

//  Defines this document to be HTML5
<!DOCTYPE html>

//  It is the root element of an HTML page
<html>.....</html>

//  This element contains hidden information like meta information of the document
<head>....</head>

//  This element specifies a title for the document
<title>My First Webpage</title>

//  This element contains the visible page content
<body>....</body>

// This element defines a large heading
<h1>My First Heading</h1>

//  This element defines a paragraph
<p>My first paragraph.</p>

What are HTML Tags? 

HTML tags are the element names surrounded by angle brackets < >. Tags normally comes in pairs like <p> and </p> where <p> is the starting tag and </p> is ending tag.

Starting & Ending tags are also known as Opening & Closing tags respectively.

Syntax:
<tagname>content area...</tagname>code-box

Examples:
<h1>This is heading. </h1>
<h2>This is sub-heading. </h2>
<p>This is paragraph. </p>
<button>This is button. </button>
<input>This is input area. </input>code-box
